The Housewares Show will be hosted and run by leading independent buying group, Associated Independent Stores (AIS) and is designed specifically for independent retailers. Historically the show has been staged only for AIS members, however, for the very first time the Independent trade will be invited to attend the August Housewares show. The show still retains exclusivity for members, with the first two days for AIS members only, but then doors will be open to all on Thursday 16th August.

Held at AIS’s own exhibition centre, Cranmore Park Conference & Event Centre in Solihull, a wide variety of suppliers will be present in the two large ground floor showrooms featuring ranges in categories such as Cookshop, Tabletop, SDA, home fragrance, glassware and gifts. The show content and mix of exhibitors has been put together to be relevant specifically for the independent retailer by buying experts within the housewares sector and it is this perspective which creates a unique one-of-a-kind environment and delivers a buyer-focussed show.

From the very warm welcome on arrival visitors will experience an atmosphere unlike that of any other trade show in this sector and present buyers with the opportunity to view the very latest products from industry leaders in a professional yet relaxed, stress-free setting.

“More than 3,000 sq m of showroom space has already been sold to great exhibitors!” Show organiser, Rachel Breen, explains; “We consistently receive feedback from our member visitors saying that the Brand offer at the show is particularly appealing to quality independents and that the intimate and relaxed atmosphere creates a friendly buying environment that is more conducive to making buying and ranging decisions.”

Rachel says that the decision to extend the event to non-AIS members was influenced by the success that other AIS divisions have enjoyed when holding trade shows for non-members as Rachel explains.

“AIS is active in many retail sectors on behalf of its members, all with relevant trade shows and nearly all of which have already extended their access to non-members.”

“So when we were approached by a number of our leading suppliers to extend our Housewares Show we were happy to do so. The experience from our other categories is that they become more vibrant and exciting shows that exhibitors and buyers want to come to and if that proves to be the case with Housewares we will continue with the new format”

Buyers in attendance can expect to see a range of established brands as well as new and exciting product launches. The line-up for August’s exhibition already includes over 70 exhibitors, giving access to over 100’s brands. Big hitters in the industry such as Denby, Le Creuset and Brabantia will line up along the likes of Wax Lyrical and Joseph Joseph.

With a focused selection of good, better, best price points and key footfall driving brands, this show will no doubt be very well received by buyers and exhibitors alike.

The Cranmore Park venue is well connected with several major transport links and can be found just off the M42, within a few minutes of Birmingham International rail and airport and the NEC. What is more, entrance, parking, and refreshments are free throughout the day including a complimentary lunch.
