The AW19 edition of the INDX Intimate Apparel show attracted a plethora of key industry buyers who travelled from all across the UK, Ireland, Europe and as far afield as Nigeria, to represent all levels of retail, from department stores to independent boutiques and quality e-tailers.

Reaffirming its status as a key ‘order writing’ show, exhibitors recorded cumulative order values in excess of £2.1m, which was a 2% increase on the same show last year. Amanda Adams, the show’s organiser reflects on this positive result:

“Buyers were in a buoyant mood and they came to the show eager to see the new ranges and prepared to spend. As our aim is to provide a professional, business-focused show conducive to buyers placing orders, the positive result is a reflection that our format is working, especially as this season we noted a significant increase in the number of buyers committing to a two or three day visit.”

The February show welcomed over 150 commercially viable brands including market leaders, established names and emerging labels, and Amanda is keen to evolve the product selection to keep on top of consumer trends and themes:
“In line with the growing consumer demand for nightwear, loungewear and gifting, this season we curated a strengthened selection of brands showcasing product to meet these specifics and in response, this area witnessed the biggest combined growth in order values at +24% versus last year. As we expected, our sports and active ranges attracted a lot of attention and our legwear brands also performed well with orders at +3% versus last year, reflecting the resurgence of hosiery and socks as a fashion trend”.

As the next show’s seasonal focus shifts towards Spring Summer 2020, the INDX team is already preparing for an exciting new showcase, which is set to call on the unrivalled facilities of Cranmore Park Conference & Event Centre in Solihull from 4-6 August.

Using all showrooms, the August line-up will feature over 175 brands including a host of global leaders, international icons and emerging labels, whilst the product offer will swell to include swimwear, resortwear and beachwear accessories.

Amanda comments: “Due to the nature of the product ranges, the spring summer shows are always a riot of colour and print which creates lots of visual impact across the exhibition spaces. We are lucky that Cranmore Park is an excellent venue in any season but the August timing allows us to make good use of the air-conditioned, floor to ceiling glazing in the upstairs showrooms and the courtyard seating area on the ground floor. As anyone who has visited an INDX show will know, we are all about creating an enjoyable experience for our buyers so we will also have complimentary Italian ice cream available and be ensuring that the after-show drinks are extra chilled!
